CosmoCare Terms & Conditions

CosmoCare Terms & Conditions

Effective: August 26, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CosmoCare web application and related services available through cosmocare.me (the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using CosmoCare, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the Service. If you are under the age required to legally agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction, you should use CosmoCare only with the involvement or permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.

2. About CosmoCare

CosmoCare is a volunteer, educational and supportive digital project providing tools and information to support personal reflection, emotional awareness, education, and healthier decision-making. Features currently include user profiles, personal spaces and interactive features, emotion or mood tracking, educational content, user-generated content where available, and Pip, an artificial-intelligence assistant. CosmoCare is currently provided on a non-commercial, volunteer basis and may introduce, modify, or discontinue features in the future.

3. Eligibility and minors

CosmoCare may be used by teenagers and other users who meet the applicable age requirements. If you are a minor under the laws applicable to you, you may need permission or involvement from a parent or legal guardian to use certain services or agree to these Terms. Users are responsible for complying with the age and consent requirements applicable to them. CosmoCare does not intentionally encourage users to provide unnecessary personal information.

4. User accounts

Certain features require an account. When creating one, users may be required to provide an email address, a username/login, a password, and other information necessary for the account. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials. Users must not share their password, use another person's account without permission, create an account using another person's identity, provide deliberately misleading account information, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact CosmoCare as soon as reasonably possible.

5. User content

Users may submit, create, or otherwise provide content through CosmoCare ("User Content"), including text, notes, profile information, avatars, posts, tracker information, and messages submitted to Pip. You retain ownership of User Content to the extent you have rights in it. By submitting User Content, you grant CosmoCare a limited, non-exclusive permission to process, store, display, and transmit that content only as reasonably necessary to operate and provide the Service — for example, storing it in the CosmoCare database, displaying it to you, processing it through Pip, transmitting it through OpenRouter where necessary to generate an AI response, and maintaining technical functionality and security. CosmoCare does not claim ownership of your personal User Content merely because you use the Service.

6. Prohibited content and use

Users must not use CosmoCare to: violate applicable law; impersonate another person; harass, threaten, or intentionally harm another person; distribute malware; attempt to gain unauthorized access to CosmoCare or another user's account; interfere with the security or operation of the Service; exploit vulnerabilities; distribute spam or automated abusive requests; facilitate illegal activity; upload content that knowingly violates another person's intellectual-property rights; attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt the Service; collect personal information about other users without authorization; or use the Service in a way that could reasonably endanger other users. CosmoCare may restrict or remove content that violates these Terms or creates a significant risk to users or the Service.

7. Pip AI assistant

CosmoCare includes an AI assistant called Pip. Pip currently uses the Meta Llama 3.3 70B Instruct model through the OpenRouter API. Pip is intended to provide general educational, informational, and supportive responses, and may process information provided by the user and available conversation context in order to generate responses.

8. Pip is not a professional service

Pip is not a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist, addiction-treatment professional, lawyer, financial adviser, emergency service, crisis hotline, or substitute for qualified professional advice. Pip does not diagnose medical, psychological, psychiatric, or addiction conditions. Pip's responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misunderstood, inappropriate for a particular situation, or generated without full knowledge of the user's circumstances. Users should independently evaluate important information provided by Pip. For medical, psychological, addiction-related, legal, financial, or other high-risk matters, users should consult an appropriately qualified professional.

9. Emergencies and immediate danger

CosmoCare and Pip are not emergency services. Users must not rely on Pip during an emergency or a situation involving immediate danger. If a user or another person is in immediate danger, the user should contact the appropriate local emergency service, crisis service, medical professional, trusted adult, or other qualified source of immediate assistance. CosmoCare cannot guarantee that Pip will correctly identify or respond to an emergency.

10. Pip conversation storage

Normal Pip conversations may be stored by CosmoCare for a limited period to provide conversation history and functionality. CosmoCare intends to automatically delete normal Pip conversation data after approximately 90 days, subject to the retention procedures described in the Privacy Policy. Users may also have access to a Temporary / Incognito Chat option that is designed not to create a normal persistent conversation history; however, technical information may still be temporarily processed or retained where reasonably necessary for security, system operation, abuse prevention, debugging, or legal compliance. The exact data-processing practices are described in the CosmoCare Privacy Policy.

11. Third-party AI processing

Pip currently uses OpenRouter to route AI requests to the applicable model provider. When you send a message to Pip, your message may be transmitted through OpenRouter and to the applicable AI/model provider for processing. Because third-party infrastructure is involved, CosmoCare cannot guarantee that every provider involved in processing information operates identically. Users should therefore avoid providing Pip with passwords, payment information, government identification numbers, exact addresses, or other unnecessary highly sensitive information. For additional information about data processing, see the CosmoCare Privacy Policy.

12. Temporary / incognito chat

Where available, Temporary Chat allows users to interact with Pip without creating a normal persistent conversation history. Temporary Chat does not guarantee that no technical data will ever exist — information may still be temporarily processed by CosmoCare or third-party infrastructure where necessary to generate the AI response, maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot technical problems, comply with legal requirements, or maintain the Service.

13. Account deletion

Users may request deletion of their CosmoCare account. Upon deletion, CosmoCare intends to delete or irreversibly anonymize information associated with the account, subject to applicable law and legitimate technical requirements. This may include the email address, username, profile information, avatar, password hash, Pip conversations, and other identifiable account information. Some information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, or legally required records. The complete data-deletion process is described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, CosmoCare's software, branding, logos, visual designs, original written materials, graphics, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to CosmoCare or its creators. Nothing in these Terms grants a user ownership of CosmoCare's intellectual property. Users may not copy CosmoCare's software, reproduce its branding without permission, sell or redistribute CosmoCare's proprietary materials, claim CosmoCare's original work as their own, or use CosmoCare's branding in a way that suggests unauthorized affiliation. User Content remains subject to Section 5.

15. AI-generated content

Pip may generate text and other outputs using artificial-intelligence technology. AI-generated content may not always be original, accurate, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose. CosmoCare does not guarantee that AI-generated content is free from errors or similarities to information generated for other users. Users are responsible for deciding whether and how to use information provided by Pip.

16. Availability of the service

CosmoCare is provided on an "as available" basis. We may modify the Service, add or remove features, temporarily suspend functionality, perform maintenance, experience technical interruptions, or discontinue parts of the Service. We do not guarantee that CosmoCare will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every possible threat, or compatible with every device or browser.

17. Third-party services

CosmoCare may depend on third-party services, including OpenRouter, AI/model providers, hosting providers, database infrastructure, authentication providers, email providers, and other technical services. CosmoCare is not responsible for independent outages, errors, policies, or actions of third-party services beyond CosmoCare's reasonable control. Use of certain third-party services may also be subject to their own terms and policies.

18. Security

CosmoCare takes reasonable measures to protect the Service and user information. However, no website, database, internet connection, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users acknowledge that they use the Service at their own reasonable risk and should take appropriate steps to protect their account credentials and personal information.

19. Privacy

Your use of CosmoCare is also governed by the CosmoCare Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, stored, shared, and deleted. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms. If you have questions about personal-data processing, please review the Privacy Policy or contact CosmoCare.

20. Volunteer and non-commercial project

CosmoCare is currently operated as a volunteer, non-commercial project. No payment is currently required to access the core Service unless CosmoCare explicitly introduces paid features in the future. If CosmoCare introduces paid services, subscriptions, advertisements, sponsorships, or other commercial features, these Terms and related policies may be updated accordingly.

21. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CosmoCare is provided without guarantees that the Service will always be uninterrupted, accurate, secure, or suitable for every user's individual circumstances. CosmoCare does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of information generated by Pip. Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer or other legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

22. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CosmoCare and its creators, contributors, volunteers, and service providers will not be responsible for losses arising solely from reliance on inaccurate AI-generated information, interruptions or unavailability of the Service, actions or failures of third-party providers, information voluntarily disclosed by users, unauthorized access caused by circumstances outside CosmoCare's reasonable control, or decisions made by a user based solely on information provided by Pip. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

23. User indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, users may be responsible for losses or claims arising from their unlawful use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights. Nothing in this section creates obligations that cannot legally be imposed on a user under applicable law.

24. Suspension or termination

CosmoCare may suspend or terminate access to an account where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, prevent abuse, prevent unauthorized access, address serious violations of these Terms, comply with legal requirements, or protect users or other persons from significant harm. Where reasonably appropriate, CosmoCare may provide notice before suspension or termination. Users may stop using CosmoCare at any time and may request account deletion.

25. Changes to these terms

CosmoCare may update these Terms from time to time. When material changes are made, CosmoCare will update the "Last Updated" date and may provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate. The updated Terms will become effective on the date specified in the updated Terms. Continued use of CosmoCare after the updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

26. Governing law

These Terms are intended to be governed by the applicable laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, unless mandatory law applicable to a particular user requires otherwise. Any disputes will be handled by the competent authorities or courts with jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict rights that cannot legally be excluded.

27. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. The invalid provision will be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable where legally possible.

28. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the CosmoCare Privacy Policy and any additional terms specifically applicable to particular CosmoCare features, constitute the agreement governing the user's use of the Service. If there is a conflict between these Terms and a mandatory legal requirement, the mandatory legal requirement will prevail.

30. User acknowledgment

By creating an account or using CosmoCare, you acknowledge that: you have read and understood these Terms; you agree to use CosmoCare responsibly and lawfully; you understand that Pip is an AI system and may make mistakes; you understand that Pip is not a medical, psychological, psychiatric, addiction-treatment, legal, financial, or emergency professional; you understand that information submitted to Pip may be processed through OpenRouter and applicable AI/model providers; you understand that Pip conversations are retained for a limited period as described in the Privacy Policy; and you understand that CosmoCare is not a replacement for qualified professional or emergency assistance.
